From Fear and Zero Experience to Confident Riding Around the Island
On Koh Phangan, a bike is more than just transportation. It’s freedom of movement, the chance to truly explore the island, and the ability to stop depending on taxis, schedules, and distances.
But for many people, the first step is the hardest: fear, anxiety, lack of experience, or bad memories after accidents.
These are exactly the kinds of students Andrey mainly works with — a motorbike instructor with more than 5 years of experience and over 500 students trained.

Who Conducts the Training
Calm and easy-to-understand teaching without pressure
Andrey does not specialize in «quick parking lot rides,» but rather works specifically with people who find it difficult to start:
- have never ridden a motorbike before
- are afraid of speed and traffic
- have experienced road accidents
- struggle with anxiety
- have difficulty with balance
- doubt they will ever be able to ride
The main goal of the training is not simply to «start riding,» but to feel control, calmness, and confidence behind the handlebars.
Lessons are available in Russian, English, and Ukrainian.
How the Training Works
First Stage — Getting Familiar with the Bike and Basic Skills
Everything starts on a safe training площадке away from traffic.
During the first lesson you will:
- get familiar with the motorbike controls
- learn how to maintain proper balance
- understand throttle and braking control
- start riding confidently at low speed
- practice essential beginner exercises
Practice includes:
- slalom riding
- riding in circles
- U-turns
- emergency braking
- avoiding obstacles
The first stage usually takes around 1–1.5 hours.
Second Stage — Riding in Real Traffic
Real practice on the island roads
After the basic training, it’s time to ride in real road conditions.
You will be driving the bike while the instructor rides as a passenger and guides you throughout the journey.
During the practice session you will learn:
- how to handle uphill and downhill roads
- safe turning techniques
- riding on sand and uneven surfaces
- how to pass puddles after rain
- riding in traffic among cars and other bikes
- the specific road conditions of Koh Phangan
Duration — approximately 1.5–2 hours.
What Bike Is Used for the Training
Yamaha Fino 2022 — a comfortable bike for beginners
Training takes place on a Yamaha Fino 2022.

The goal is to teach you how to ride, not to stretch out the lessons
The program is designed so that you can start riding around the island independently as soon as possible.
If everything feels easy and progresses quickly, the training can even be completed in one day.
After the lessons, students usually continue practicing their new skills on the island roads by themselves.

🦎 Even I, the gecko, learned how to ride a bike!
At first I was scared of sand, hills, and turns 😅
But Andrey explained everything calmly — and now I’m already cruising around Koh Phangan like a local 🛵🌴
