Cosmonaut

Cosmonaut electronic music artist portrait

COSMONAUT (Eduard Gubin) is one of the early electronic music pioneers who has been drawing large crowds all over Russia and Eastern Europe since the 1990s. His DJ and production career started in 1991, and his releases quickly gained international recognition: the tracks «Plasma» and «Boctok5» from the Russian EP (Transient Records, UK, 1997) reached the top 10 of Paul Oakenfold’s chart when he was DJ Mag’s No.1.

Throughout his career, Cosmonaut has performed at major festivals such as Love Parade and KaZantip, sharing the stage with leading artists like The Prodigy, Underworld, Paul Van Dyk, Mark Knight, Tiësto and many more. He has been repeatedly voted among the top DJs in Russia, while his project Radiotrance became a landmark name for electronic music fans. Ed also hosted a weekly electronic music show broadcast across more than 100 cities in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Today, Cosmonaut is widely known for his productions on labels like Outta Limits, Univack, WARPP, Stellar Fountain, SkyTop, JOOF, Kitchen and others, including collaborations with Stan Kolev, Matan Caspi, Kamilo Sanclemente, Tomy Wahl and more. His tracks are supported by major global artists such as Hernan Cattaneo and Above & Beyond in their Group Therapy show. A recent Cosmonaut remix on WARPP reached No.1 in the Beatport Progressive House chart and stayed there for about two months, becoming one of the best-selling tracks of the genre in 2024.

Every Cosmonaut hybrid live + DJ set is explosive and highly dynamic: he uses modern tools, combining loops, synths, live elements and FX to build his unique, impulsive sound on the dance floor. On Koh Phangan, Cosmonaut has played at well-known venues such as BAMBU Huts, Hollystone, Seaside and other key spots across the island.
