Phangan is a tropical paradise that attracts thousands of travelers with its beaches and the famous Full Moon Party. But how do you get to the island and back? In this article, you’ll find the latest ferry schedules for Koh Phangan, along with tips on planning your trip.
There is no airport on the island. You can reach Koh Phangan (and leave it) by ferry from the mainland (Surat Thani and Chumphon) and the islands of Samui and Koh Tao.
Most travelers start from Samui since it is the closest island with an airport. Ferries run daily. Travel time: about 30-60 minutes depending on the ferry type.
If you’re coming from the mainland, Surat Thani is your best option. Ferries depart daily. Travel time: 2–3 hours.
If you’re visiting Koh Tao before Phangan, ferries between these islands also run daily. Travel time: about 1.5 hours.
