The First PhanganLife Party — What Really Happened

The very first PhanganLife party was meant to be a simple gathering at a bar — but Phangan had other plans 😅
This is the story of how we changed the venue last minute, combined two birthdays, and threw a solid party at a solid location, one that everyone will remember. 🎉

At first, everything was simple. The founder of PhanganLife was planning to celebrate his birthday on February 25, and I said to him:
— Hey, buddy, we still haven’t celebrated my birthday! 🦎
He thought for a moment and said:
— Let’s combine them! A double celebration — your birthday and mine: PhanganLife.

💡 Great idea! We decided to throw it at YEP Listening Bar — one of our favorite spots. The vibe 🔥, the parties 🔥, and all the people feel like home.
It didn’t take long to find DJs — we’ve got friends who spin so well, even my tail starts dancing.
We named the party Gecko’s Birthday, made posters, and booked the most powerful sound system on Phangan — those speakers that make the walls breathe.

And then Phangan reminded us who’s really in charge.

Because on Phangan, you can’t plan anything. The island knows itself when and how things should happen.
If you want to make Phangan laugh — tell it about your plans.

🌀 And then — the night before the party, we’re dancing at YEP, and suddenly at 11:00 PM, the police show up.
Citing noise complaints, they shut the bar down for a month (well, almost — it still works, just quieter now).
But we were planning to light it up big time!

We urgently started looking for a new venue. And not just any place — something real, with vibe, view, and soul.
We set our sights on BlueRama — an elite spot with a pool, sunsets, and style.
They usually only host their own events — and only on Saturdays. Unless it’s something truly special…

And we told them:
— Well, this is something special! PhanganLife’s birthday! And a gecko in the spotlight! 😎

The negotiations took a while, honestly — we almost lost hope.
And then suddenly: YES! It’s on!

🔥 And then it took off.
New posters — cooler than the old ones. A new name — The Beginning. Because everything was just starting.
We launched the promo — and of course, we were nervous.
What if no one shows up?..

But once again, Phangan did it its own way.
From 4:00 PM people started arriving, and from there — it only got better and better.

🎛 Music from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM — non-stop
🎧 DJ Kaya, Mike Ross, and Dima Odivo played so powerfully the air itself was shaking
🌅 Sunset, infinity pool, drone footage, body paint, hugs
💃 The dancefloor was everywhere — even in the water
🧡 There was so much energy and love, we still feel the warmth

It was a 10 out of 10 party.
A solid party, in a solid place, for solid people.

And I, the gecko, want to say this from the bottom of my heart:

We’re happy we didn’t disappoint, and the party truly matched the level of this stunning venue.

Huge thanks to our DJs — they didn’t just light up the decks, they helped organize everything from start to finish.
It was our shared mission, and our shared beginning.

PhanganLife was born.
